Cancel an allied health client's appointment for NDIS claiming

Lumary AH - This article explains how to cancel a client's appointment so that the cancellation can be claimed under the NDIS.

Lumary AH is set up to generate service delivered (SD) records for claiming cancellations that meet the NDIA's short notice cancellation requirements. When a cancellation meets these requirements, the corresponding NDIS cancellation code will be included for claiming.

To cancel an appointment that may be eligible for NDIS claiming:

1. Go to the appointment. You can get there from -
   
   
   • • the Appointments Scheduler tab
     • client's record, or
     • your My Day View.

2. If you clicked the appointment in a calendar, you'll need to click on the name of the appointment using the text link at the top of the summary panel. This will open a session record for the appointment.
3. Click on the Cancel Appointment button.
4. On the Cancel Appointment popup screen, select Client as the reason that the appointment was cancelled.
5. Click on the Next button.
6. The Cancellation Date & Time fields fields will default to the current date and time. To edit, click in the required field and use the calendar or clock functions to change the details.
7. Select an option from the Reason drop-down list. Make sure this is one of the four reasons that are eligible under the NDIS. The following table shows the default reasons and codes used by Lumary. The naming of these reasons may be slightly different in your environment.

8. If required, click in the Cancellation Notes field and add details of the cancellation.
9. Click on the Next button.
10. If there is a cancellation charge involved, you'll see a summary of the cancellation, including the reason and the amount of the charge.
11. Click the Confirm button to confirm the cancellation.

If the cancellation meets the NDIA's short notice cancellation requirements, this will generate an SD record for claiming.
